Diabetes, Hypertension, and Lipids:  Cases for Psychiatrists

Introduction

Dr. Wittich received his undergrad in Pharm D from the University of Iowa.  He graduated with honors in Pharmacy and Highest Distinction.  He then attended Mayo Medical School and did his Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education where he was Chief Medical Resident for one additional year.  Presently, Dr. Wittich is the Practice Chair for General Internal Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.  Dr. Wittich has research interests in graduate medical education and continuous professional development.

  • List contraindications to medications for diabetes

  • State when to start a statin based on ASCVD risk score

  • Describe blood pressure treatment goals based on comorbidities
