Stephanie Hansel, M.D., M.D.

 


Introduction

Dr. Stephanie Hansel has been a member of the Mayo Clinic staff since 2008.  She currently serves as a consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.  She is part of the Comprehension GI group and cares for patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  She serves at the chair for the inpatient GI practice and has many roles in education for the internal medicine residents and GI fellows.  She also is involved in hospital census management and hospital practice quality subcommittees.  Prior to her medical training, she worked as a masters level provider on Mayo 11 alongside Jill Snuggerud.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children (ages 10, 8, 7).

  1. Review the history of FGID.
  2. Recognize presentation of common FGIDs and differences in management strategies.
  3. Explain role of psychological factors in patients with FGID.
  4. Describe the approach to care of patients with FGID.
