To Watch or Not to Watch: Childhood Media Use and It's Implications
Lauren Murphy, D.O.
Introduction
Dr. Murphy completed undergraduate training in Biology at University of Minnesota, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. She then attended A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, and received a degree of Doctor of Osteopathy in 2012. She is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and is currently a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellow in her 5th year of training. She will graduate in July 2017. Dr. Murphy has accepted a position with Prairie Care and will work as a Child Psychiatrist in their Intensive Outpatient Program in Edina, MN. Dr. Murphy’s interests include diagnosis and treatment of pediatric mood and anxiety disorders, as well as the effects of parental influences and perceptions of children’s mental health.

- Identify resources available to help families develop a personalized media use plan.

Extended Length of Stay: Evaluation of Cardiovascular Risk
Ewa Bieber, M.D.
Introduction
Ewa D. Bieber earned her medical degree from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow, Poland and is currently completing her fourth year of residency in General Adult Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Upon completion of residency in July 2017, Ewa will stay in Rochester to complete the two year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
Learning Objectives
- Identiy cardiovascular risk in patients with severe mental illness
- Evaluate the ability to adhere to recommended monitoring protocols for boarded patients.
- Examine factors, which may further exacerbate cardiovascular risk in this unique population.
