Neuropsychologically Distinct Presentations of Logopenic Aphasia
Tyler Owens, Ph.D., L.P.
Introduction
Dr. Owens is currently a second year fellow in Adult Neuropsychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a health psychology emphasis from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He completed his predoctoral internship at the VA Portland Healthcare System in Portland, Oregon, training in neuropsychology at both the Portland VA and Oregon Health & Science University. His research interests include reading difficulties in Primary Progressive Aphasia variants and neuropsychological classification of logopenic aphasia. Clinically, he is interested in assessment of progressive degenerative diseases and acquired brain injury in general.

Was it Something I Said? What Can Linguistics Teach Us About ADHD?
Jacob Wilson, M.D.
Introduction
Dr. Wilson grew up in Owatonna, MN. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 2008. He completed medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Wilson is a 4th year psychiatry resident at Mayo Clinic, anticipating graduation in July 2017. He has accepted a position in adult psychiatry at Prairie Care in the Twin Cities. In addition to ADHD, his clinical interests include bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and addiction.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the history of ADHD in the medical literature.
- Express the clinical significance of the disorder an the controversy surrounding its diagnosis and treatment.
- Summarize the genetic and neurobiological basis of the disorder.
- Explore possible clinical phenotypes of the disorder that may be evident in the midst of a clinical encounter.
