Introduction
1st Speaker
Dr. Braus grew up Madison, Wisconsin. He received his B.A. from Whitman College, where he majored in politics. After college he moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, to work as a legislative assistant in the Minnesota State Senate. He completed his Masters of Public Health and MD degrees from the University of Minnesota. He is in his 4th year of the psychiatry residency program at the Mayo Clinic. His professional interests include geriatrics, consult-liaison psychiatry, mental health policy, history of medicine, and medical education.
2nd Speaker
Dr. Betcher is currently the chief resident of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at the Mayo Clinic. She grew up in southern Minnesota and completed her undergraduate studies at Carleton College. She attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, graduating in 2013. She will be completing her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship in July 2018.
