Introduction
Linda Dimeff, Ph.D. is President and Chief Scienfitic Officer at Evidence-Based Practice Institute, Inc., Institute Director at Portland DBT institute, and Clinical Faculty in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. Directly mentored and supervised by Marsha M. Linehan, Ph.D. and G. Alan Marlatt, Ph.D. throughout her graduate training, Dr. Dimeff has focused her career in developing, testing, and disseminating evidence-based treatments for multi-problem, complex, difficult-to-treat suicidal persons with borderline personality disorder and substance use disorders, and to the innovative applications of technology to further the dissemination process. She is the recipient of over 20 NIH-funded grants and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and two books, including DBT in Clinical Practice. Dr. Dimeff has trained and supervised clinicians and front line staff in diverse settings throughout the world in DBT and other EBPs.
Kelly Koerner, Ph.D. serves as CEO and Creative Director of the Evidence-Based Practice Institute, a social enterprise that helps practitioners learn and use evidence-based mental health care practices. Science values, design skills and social entrepreneurship meld as she develops highly collaborative, technology-based tools to disseminate evidence-based practices (EBPs). Her experience includes extensive practical experience in supporting individuals and systems as they learn, implement, and sustain EBPs in diverse settings and educational backgrounds (e.g., from paraprofessionals in juvenile justice facilities to masters-level counselors in community mental health and substance abuse treatment centers to research therapists in academic clinical trials). She maintains an active research program and is Clinicl Faculty at the University of Washington and author of Doing DBT: A Practical Guide.
