Dr. Bruno Perossa received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Modern & Classical Languages followed by his Master’s of Arts in Comparative Literature & Culture from Texas A&M University. Dr. Perossa worked in Europe before deciding to pursue his medical degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland. Following medical school, Dr. Perossa worked as a junior physician in Malta before returning back to the US to complete his general adult psychiatry residency at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Perossa is a board certified adult psychiatrist and is currently completing his final year of fellowship as Co-Chief in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry here at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Perossa has had a culturally diverse experience working amongst the Nahautl Indians in the rainforest of Mexico as well as the Incan Indians in the Andes of Peru during his undergraduate and graduate studies. Dr. Perossa likewise worked for 3 years with North African immigrant children in the impoverished districts of Milan, Italy as well as worked extensively with children in an orphanage in Wolsztyn, Poland. Following graduation, Dr. Perossa will split his time working as an inpatient child psychiatrist at Prairie Care in the Cities and will continue his previous work with North African Immigrant children in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Suarez Pardo completed her medical education in Bogota, Colombia at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and subsequently worked as a general practitioner in an underserved community. She completed a research fellowship at the Cardiac Psychiatry Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital prior to her training. Dr. Suarez Pardo is currently a fourth year Psychiatry resident at Mayo Clinic and serving as chief resident.  Her clinical interests have focused on Geriatric and Consultation-Liaison psychiatry for which she has been recognized with three awards and now planning to complete a Consultation-Liaison fellowship at Mayo Clinic after residency. Dr. Suarez Pardo has also developed interests in Cultural Psychiatry and has worked closely with Spanish-speaking communities. Dr. Suarez Pardo’s primary research interests center on understanding psychological distress and mood disorders on patients with end-stage heart failure who undergo LVAD implantation. She has been selected for the Clinician Investigator Training Program at Mayo Clinic and will develop a qualitative study followed by a psychological intervention with the goal of improving patients’ quality of life and prognosis. Dr. Suarez Pardo has also been invested in education and participated in a variety of educational activities with medical students and residents.
