Speaker 1:
Eva Alden, Ph.D. is currently a second year Adult Neuropsychology Fellow. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University after completing a predoctoral internship at the University of Florida. Her current research projects span a range of topics, including developing normative data for use in neuropsychological assessment and functional outcomes in adolescents with epilepsy during transition to adult medical care..
Speaker 2:
Amy Fahrenkamp, Ph.D. is a second year clinical child psychology fellow with primary clinical and research interests in pediatric psychology, particularly involving consultation/liaison services and pediatric chronic pain treatment. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth, her masters and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University and then completed her pre-doctoral internship at Nationwide Children’s in Columbus, OH before starting fellowship here at Mayo. Her research interests focus on the impact of stress on pediatric health issues, with her graduate and postdoctoral research more specifically examining the impact of stress management techniques such as biofeedback in the setting of chronic pain and symptoms.

- identify potential strengths and limitations of using computerized measures for cognitive screening
- appreciate the importance of understanding the study sample used for test validation and diagnostic accuracy studies
- identify four evidence-based parent-child interventions in parents with substance use disorder

- identify how biofeedback interventions may benefit youth with chronic pain and related symptoms.
- describe the benefits of a case series design to determine feasibility and acceptability of treatment with a novel population.
- explore biofeedback intervention strategies that may specifically target avoidant/restrictive eating issues with the context of pediatric pain and chronic symptoms.
