John Patrick Janowski, M.D.
John Patrick (JP) Janowski, M.D., is a PGY-4 resident physician completing sequential dual training in psychiatry and internal medicine at Mayo Clinic and Washington University in St. Louis, respectively. A New York native, he completed his A.B. in history and religion at Cornell University, post baccalaureate premedical coursework at Bryn Mawr College, and his M.D. with distinction in research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was president of his class. Dr. Janowski has worked for the medical director of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute publishing a large study on the quality of STI care in New York State's hospitals and community health centers and designing the nation's first online Prevention with Positives clinician toolkit published in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins Division of Infectious Diseases. Passionate about vulnerable populations, communities, and advocacy, he has volunteered extensively for a free clinic in the South Bronx, is a member of the National Health Service Corps, and completed international psychiatry electives in under resourced Uganda and Chile. Dr. Janowski currently serves as Chair of the Minnesota Medical Association Resident & Fellow Section and in leadership positions for the Mayo Fellows Association and Zumbro Valley Medical Society.
