Mayo Clinic Pulmonary Manifestations of Connective Tissue Disorders 2019
This three-day course provides pulmonologists, rheumatologists, internists and general practitioners with up-to-date information on pulmonary manifestations of rheumatologic disorders. From this course, participants discern how to recognize and diagnose interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and other respiratory problems which are common in autoimmune rheumatologic disorders, and review the latest information regarding pathogenic mechanisms, clinical trials and therapeutic modalities. The speakers are nationally and internationally recognized specialists in the field. Residents and fellows have the opportunity to participate by submitting original studies for poster presentations.

Submit an abstract or work in the area of Rheumatology and/or Pulmonology either case series, case-control or randomized trials; as well as, outcome studies, quality improvement or practice innovations and interesting case reports to be included in an electronic poster session. This course is designed for pulmonologists, rheumatologists, primary care physicians and providers with an interest in pulmonary involvement of connective tissue disorders. The course will be available for any physician, physician in training or provider with no other prerequisites.
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Review basic clinical and therapeutic aspects of interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension in patients with connective tissue diseases
- Improve interpretation skills for laboratory and pulmonary testing pertaining to patients with interstitial lung disease and connective tissue diseases
- Identify patients that need a multidisciplinary approach early in the course of disease
- Review up-to-date information about ongoing research in connective tissue disease patients with autoimmune lung involvement

Rooms are limited and we encourage early booking. All parking at the resort is provided by valet service. A resort activity package is reduced for guests to a daily rate of $16.50; which includes, enhanced wireless in-room internet access for up to five devices, basic wireless internet in the meeting space, fitness class of the day, bicycle usage for up to two bikes, for two hours per day, golf club driving range balls and use of golf practice facilities, tennis court privileges including a racquet and balls for one hour, beach umbrella (one per room, per day) and beach boogie boards (up to two per day, per room).
