Vasculitis CME Course 2019

This is an intensive course to examine and review current knowledge about the biology and management of vasculitis.  The course draws together experts in the fields of epidemiology, imaging and treatment of major forms of vascular inflammatory diseases including Giant Cell Arteritis, Takayasu arteritis, ANCA vasculitis (GPA, MPA, EGPA) and others. State of the art management and current research into various forms of vasculitis will be presented at this scientific meeting.

Target Audience

Internists, rheumatologists, vascular medicine specialists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, ENT specialists, other physicians and providers as well as scientists who are engaged in research into the biology of vasculitis and involved in the care of patients with these diseases. 

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Select and apply appropriate diagnostic strategies for the initial and follow up evaluation of  patients with various forms of vasculitis.
  • Describe the potential end-organ complications and treatment related comorbidities in patients with vasculitis. 
  • Explain how to select and use glucocorticoid and novel biologic agents for remission induction in major forms of vasculitis.
  • Explain how to formulate a treatment plan for remission maintenance in patients with vasculitis.
