This course satisfies the Florida Board of Medicines and Florida Board of Pharmacy requirement for two credits in medical errors and medication errors for each biennial renewal. As stated by the Florida Board of Medicine, this course relates to the prevention of medical and medication errors which includes: a study of root cause analysis, error reduction and prevention, and patient safety. The course includes information relating to the five most misdiagnosed conditions during the previous biennium, as determined by the Board. Learners explore approaches to prevent medical and medication errors that are system-based and human performance-based.

Target Audience

This activity is suitable for physicians, advanced practice practitioners, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who may benefit.
