Mayo Clinic’s Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium is dedicated to the latest advancements in head and neck cancer care, encompassing surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and symptom control/survivorship. This three-day symposium features a blend of multidisciplinary sessions and specialized tracks, including hands-on learning and small breakout sessions. It begins with a multidisciplinary session on day one, continues with subspecialty breakouts on day two, and concludes with another multidisciplinary session on day three.
Abstract Submission
Target Audience:
Symposium Participants including Residents, Fellows, Medical Students, Research Temporary Professionals, and Allied Health Staff including Nurses, pharmacists, and Advanced Practice Providers.
Overview:
Goals of the poster presentations are to educate and inform about ongoing and completed clinical and basic research projects involving all disciplines involved in the care of patients with head and neck malignancies. In addition, a special focus is to provide a forum for nursing innovations and quality improvement initiatives. This will allow presenters to share ideas and interest, and network with other participants and symposium faculty. Previously presented materials are accepted. Posters of accepted abstracts will be displayed for viewing at welcome reception and break times. Presenters will receive 50% off course registration fee.
Poster Abstract Guidelines:
- Abstract submissions are limited to 400 words, excluding title, author, and institution information, and should be submitted as a one-page, single-spaced Word document.
- Inclusion of tables and images is acceptable but must be within the one-page abstract document.
- The title should be at the top of the abstract in bold font followed by a complete list of authors including relevant degrees, department, and medical institution. Please identify the presenting author(s) with an asterisk (*).
Submission Deadline and Instructions:
Abstract submissions are due by February 3rd, 2025 and can be submitted via email to Khoury.Peter@mayo.edu
Selection and Notification:
A review committee will evaluate poster abstracts based on the following criteria: content, novelty, writing quality, and overall merit. Notification of poster acceptance will be made via email. Additional information will also be sent at that time including when and where posters can be set up on-site.
