4th Degree Laceration Workshop
February 6, 2025 - Copper Mountain Resort - Copper Mountain, Colorado
The 4th-degree laceration workshop is intended to familiarize the provider with the anal sphincter anatomy and with the overlapping sphincteroplasty technique. The course is divided into a brief didactic section in which the anatomy will be reviewed and evidence provided for the benefit of the overlapping anal sphincter repair technique. This will then be reinforced by surgical videos, as well as a hands-on pig anal sphincter model to allow participants to practice performing the overlapping technique with the aid of faculty versed in this procedure. At the end of the workshop participants should be able to understand better the anal sphincter anatomy, the evidence for the benefit of the overlapping technique and to feel comfortable performing an overlapping repair.
