Sex, Gender, and the Brain: a 2021 Update
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Interpret the effects of sex on the brain as mediated by chromosomes, gonads, and reproduction
- Interpret the effects of gender on the brain as mediated by subjective, social, and cultural factors
- Give examples of the effects of sex and gender on the incidence, time trends, and risk factors for dementia and Alzheimer's Disease
- Recognize the difference between frequency and strength of a risk factor
