Target Audience
The Mayo Clinic Mechanical Ventilation Conference is designed for critical care providers, respiratory therapists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Outline the physiologic principles and cardiopulmonary interactions underlying the risks, benefits, and applications of ventilator support for respiratory failure
- Demonstrate appropriate use of mechanical ventilation equipment following participation in breakout sessions
- Describe in detail the use of different ventilatory strategies to prevent ventilator induced lung injury
