Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Objective 1  Identify the possible causes of death that may not be readily apparent clinically
    in the patient.
  • Objective 2  Integrate unexpected findings at autopsy during the conference by consulting
    with the internal medicine residents/fellows.
  • Objective 3  Assess the medical care that was given and determine if a change could have
    been made with the additional information received at autopsy.
  • Objective 4  Formulate a plan to integrate the unexpected findings in future care of patients.
