Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss mitral valve anatomy as it relates to the pathophysiology of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
  • Review mitral valve abnormalities in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and how these may influence techniques for correction of obstruction.

Title: Mitral Annular Disjunction: An Underappreciated Contributor to Ventricular Arrhythmogenesis?

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the definition and echocardiographic assessment of mitral annular disjunction
  • Assess the association of mitral annular disjunction with ventricular arrhythmias in patients with and without myxomatous mitral valve prolapse
  • Examine potential genetic underpinnings of arrhythmic bi-leaflet mitral valve prolapse/mitral annular disjunction
