Dr. Meagher leads the CIM 3-site community engagement network, and her main research interest is in ethical and social implications of human and microbial genomics. She is currently conducting studies on stakeholder attitudes toward the creation of a COVID-19 pandemic biobank, and ethical and social aspects of implementing microbial genetic technologies.
 
Prior to joining Mayo Clinic in 2018, Dr. Meagher completed a PhD in moral philosophy at Michigan State University, focusing on ethics and public health. From 2012-2016, she worked as a Senior Policy and Research Analysis in ethics, science and technology policy for Barack Obama’s Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. In 2018, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in qualitative research methods at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Describe novel ethical, legal, and social aspects of microbial genetics and antimicrobial stewardship
