This series is offered enterprise wide. In Rochester, it will be on the second Thursday of the month from Noon - 1:00 p.m. CDT. In Florida, it will be on the second Monday of every other month from 12:20 – 1:20 p.m. EST. In Arizona, it will be at varied dates and times. The Center for Individualized Medicine (CIM) Grand Rounds series features world-renown speakers as they present the latest in scientific discovery and innovation in translating Individualized Medicine to meet current and future patient needs. CIM Grand Rounds is available through live webcast on video exchange to reach Mayo Clinic staff throughout the enterprise.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This series is intended for physicians, advanced practice nurses, PAs, pharmacists, genetic counselors, laboratory medicine professionals, bioinformaticians, researchers, residents, fellows, nurses and allied health staff.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:
- Explain practical applications of genomics and pharmacogenomics for individualizing patient care.
- Define strategies to overcome obstacles to implementing genomic sequencing for patient care.
- Describe new and emerging technologies that promote individualized care for patients.
- Discuss ethical, legal, and social issues arising from the translation of individualized medicine into the clinical practice and the promotion of molecular, cellular, and genomic medicine research.
