| Microvascular Surgery Skills Training Course 2024 |
Course Directors -Steven L. Moran, M.D. Mayo Clinic’s Microvascular Surgery Skills Training Course is a five-day program focused on skill development in the use of microvascular surgical techniques. Limited to four attendees per session, the course allows each attendee to receive extensive, individualized training. The instruction incorporates demonstrations, microvascular skills practice and detailed handouts. Attendees will work with the course instructor to schedule a week that is both convenient and well-suited to individual skills. |

Available until February 1, 2026 Summary: Flu and cold season is an annual concern for people around the world. Specifically in the United States, there are massive disparities in both care and outcomes for communities of color related to both diagnosis and treatment of flu and cold. On this episode of the RISE for Equity podcast, Dr. Nusheen Ameenuddin joins host Nicole Nfonoyim-Hara to discuss COVID’s impact on cold and flu, protecting our communities, and how we can improve education and access to care for marginalized communities. “The truth of the matter is genetically, we're all very similar. It's not an issue of race, it's an issue of racism. When we actually step back, people can be like, ‘Oh, that situation was a one-off.’ And when we actually look at the data, it's not a one-off. The fact is, we're not asking the right questions, and we need to look deeper to ensure that we are providing the best possible care, the most objective care, the most patient-centered care, particularly when we see that we're falling short. | Nursing Grand Rounds: Laying the Foundation: Essential Concepts in the Provision of Trauma Responsive Care | Effective patient services require not only an understanding of the basics of trauma, but also its effects on the human mind, body, and soul. Trauma informed care requires an ability to recognize the effects of traumatic experiences and the prevalence of those effects in individuals seeking medical and mental health care. A thorough understanding of the constellation of symptoms and mental health presentations of traumatized clients, the neurobiology of trauma, and application of Judith Herman’s Tri-phasic trauma intervention model will be addressed. Participants will learn to support clients who have difficulty making gains due to inability to regulate emotionally or physiologically, and to apply proactive strategies attuned to the complex needs of traumatized clients. | Enduring |

| Mayo Clinic Application of Quality Improvement: Tools and Methods – Silver Level Knowledge Assessment |
Available until December 31, 2026 - Online CME Course Mayo Clinic Application of Quality Improvement: Tools and Methods – Silver Level Knowledge Assessment (formerly Applied Quality Essentials) is a learning and self-assessment activity which aims to evaluate the participant’s knowledge in quality improvement concepts and methods. This Silver Level Knowledge Assessment crosses all disciplines and clinical settings. The following key themes align with ABMS patient safety standards document and are incorporated in the questions and reference material for this module: patient safety, error identification, effect of systems, human factors, communication, culture of safety, methods and tools for evaluating quality and safety events. There are no prerequisites for this course. The module is offered as an online 30-question Pre-test (Test A) and 30-question Post-test (Test B). Test A and Test B are different versions each containing 30 distinct questions testing to the same concepts. The module can be taken as an open book test with an extensive, indexed Study Guide included. Education credit will be awarded if the participant achieves a score ≥80% correct answers on Pre-test (Test A-one chance) or Post-test (Test B-two chances). For Test A, the learner’s choices along with the correct answers for each question will be provided with an overall performance score and relevant references to educational content at the conclusion of the test. For Test B, the learner can choose to display whether the answer was correct or incorrect, with an overall performance score at the conclusion of the test. |
