Mayo Clinic's Updates in Palliative Care is a multidisciplinary CME course designed to build and enhance your palliative care knowledge. Experts from Mayo Clinic will provide clinically relevant pearls for palliative care providers and clinicians from primary care, hematology/oncology, hospital medicine, critical care, pediatrics, and related specialties. If you care for patients with serious illness and are looking to broaden your skills beyond the basics, this is the course for you.

Target Audience
Targeted clinician specialties (MD, NP, PA-C) including clinicians from general internal medicine, family medicine, hospital medicine, oncology, hospice and palliative care, critical care, geriatrics, nephrology and cardiology.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Give examples on discussing prognosis of patients’ experiencing serious life-limiting illness.
- Review new pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic management options available to palliate common symptoms associated with serious life-limiting illness.
- Assess psychosocial suffering associated with serious life-limiting illness in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
- Summarize risk factors associated with decreased or insufficient goal concordant care at end of life.
- Identify demographic, psychosocial, and racial factors that are associated with decreased access to effective hospice and palliative care.

Location
Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort has reserved a block of guest rooms at a special group rate of $379 (USD) plus tax, single or double occupancy, run of house, per night, for course participants and guests. Reduced rates apply three days before and three days after the course dates, based on group room availability. To ensure accommodations at the discounted rate, make your reservations directly with the hotel before the block is full or by April 8, 2025, whichever comes first.
Reservations can be made directly in the room block online or by calling 1-888-236-2427. Specify that you are requesting a room in the Mayo Clinic Palliative Care course.
All reservation requests must be guaranteed and accompanied with a deposit in the amount of the first night’s room and tax. The deposit can be in the form of a credit card, cash, or check. This deposit is non-refundable unless reservation is cancelled by 4:00pm three (3) days prior to arrival.
Housekeeping Gratuity: A mandatory $3.00 per room, per night will be charged for the Housekeeping Staff. Evening Turndown service will be included in this gratuity.
Spa Discount: 10% Discount on Spa Services (not including Retail or Previously discounted services. Gratuity will be based on original retail price of service).
