Mayo Clinic's 8th Annual Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Symposium in Orlando, Florida is a two-day CME course focused on the latest topics in cutaneous oncology covering the fields of dermatology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and medical oncology. The goal of this symposium is to discuss the available evidence of these topics to assist in making the most informed decisions.

In addition, numerous presentations and discussions will highlight current and new advances in therapeutic treatments for both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, especially, basal cell, squamous cell and Merkel cell carcinoma.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians and advanced practice providers in dermatology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, head and neck surgery, internal medicine and family medicine.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify advantages of Mohs micrographic surgery in treatment of thin melanoma
  • Describe the role of radiation therapy in the management of Merkel cell carcinoma
  • Recognize the utility of molecular assays in assessing lymph node metastasis in melanoma
  • Describe side-effects associated with systemic therapies used in the treatment of melanoma
  • Discuss management strategies for locally advanced or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma
  • Identify genetic syndromes associated with cutaneous malignancies
