Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Apply evidence-based clinical decision-making and procedural skills to evaluate, stabilize, and manage acute medical emergencies encountered in beach, coastal, and marine environments across prehospital, emergency department, urgent care, primary care, and austere settings.
• Identify and manage infectious, toxicologic, and environmental exposures associated with marine and coastal environments, including seafood-borne illness and toxidromes, water- and vector-borne infections, travel-related fever and gastrointestinal illness, marine envenomations, and pollution-related health effects.
• Evaluate and treat trauma and exposure-related conditions specific to aquatic and coastal activities, including drowning and post-immersion syndromes, hypothermia, heat illness, dehydration and electrolyte disorders, watercraft and sports-related injuries, fishing and marine animal injuries, and weather- or disaster-related harm.
• Integrate principles of travel medicine, hyperbaric medicine, and dive physiology into the assessment and management of patients with diving- and flight-related illness, decompression sickness, barotrauma, and fitness-to-travel considerations.
• Analyze epidemiologic trends, public health implications, and prevention strategies relevant to beach and marine health, including injury mitigation, safety planning, special population considerations, environmental hazards, and emerging threats such as microplastics and marine pollution.
• Implement strategies to enhance safety, wellbeing, and resilience by incorporating stress management, fatigue mitigation, mindfulness, and sustainable approaches to both professional practice and personal recreation.
