LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the Value Equation in healthcare and concepts of high and low value care
  • Review the ABIM “Choosing Wisely” campaign and its relationship to cost consciousness and waste avoidance
  • Describe the evolution to the ABIM “Building Trust” project and the complementary roles between patient and provider trust as well as trust in healthcare institutions
  • Describe the essential role of “inspiring hope and healing”, especially for those with “serious and complex illness,” where cure may no longer be possible
