This session is designed to provide essential information related to TB contact investigations. Participants will explore basic principles including prioritizing contacts and the TB evaluation process. They will examine congregate settings and discuss ways to handle the media during a contact investigation.
Target Audience
This course is designed for allied health professionals, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, resident/fellows, and healthcare professionals working in a public healthcare setting.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Identify strategies for prioritizing contacts utilizing the concentric circle approach.
Determine the appropriate evaluation process to utilize during a TB contact investigation.
Outline considerations for conducting TB contact investigations in congregate settings.
Review strategies for dealing with the media.
