The Gastroenterology for the Hospitalist course will provide didactic offerings to hospital practitioners focusing on common GI diseases and situations encountered in the inpatient setting. It is geared towards hospitalists and advance practice providers needing to consult gastroenterologists on patients with GI and liver diseases, such as GI bleeding, nutrition, inflammatory bowel diseases, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients, pancreatitis, cirrhosis, and acute diverticulitis.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize recent practice changes in the management of acute pancreatitis
- Identify key management recommendations for patients hospitalized with acute diverticulitis
- Describe available diagnostic and treatment options for patients hospitalized with lower GI bleeding
