The Multidisciplinary Update in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine 2025 course provides a state-of-the-art update on clinical advances in pulmonary and critical care medicine. A multidisciplinary faculty from Mayo Clinic imparts a comprehensive approach to the current evaluation and management of various respiratory diseases. Topics include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary hypertension, ICU evaluation and management of shock, artificial intelligence and radiomics in computerized tomography of patients with pulmonary disease, and new technologies for patients with pulmonary nodules and interstitial lung disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review the approach to diagnosing pulmonary nodules
  • Recognize the advances in artificial intelligence and radiomics in patients with interstitial lung disease
  • Summarize the approach to managing hemorrhagic shock in the ICU
  • Recognize the advances in artificial intelligence and radiomics in patients with pulmonary nodules
  • Describe the updated guidelines for pulmonary hypertension
  • Review the approach to managing mixed or multifactorial shock in the ICU
  • Assess the evaluation and treatment of patients with adult respiratory distress syndrome
  • Review the advances in lung transplant
  • Describe the updated GOLD guidelines for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD
