Mayo Clinic's 6th Annual Neuro and Intensive Care: Review, Workshops and Controversies 2020 in Orlando, Florida is a CME course designed for medical providers who care for patients with neurological/neurosurgical emergencies, acute stroke and brain hemorrhage, acute brain injury, coma and disorders that require hospital, emergency department, and intensive care unit (ICU) evaluation and management. The course will provide a mixture of didactic, case-based and evidence-based guideline review and hands on workshops including pharmacotherapy workshops. Hands on workshops include central line placement, critical care ultrasound including focused cardiac and lung ultrasound, optic nerve sheath diameter ultrasound for non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring and hands on intracranial ICP monitor ventriculostomy placement in high-fidelity simulation. Pharmacotherapy workshops and ICU EEG workshops will utilize audience participation in on screen quizzes and share protocols regarding osmotherapy for raised intracranial pressure and antiepileptic drug (AED) therapy.

Target Audience
This course is designed for providers trained in neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and critical care medicine backgrounds from neurocritical care, pulmonary-critical care, and anesthesia; as well as ARNPs, PAs, paramedics/EMS personnel, pharmacists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists who care for patients with neurological emergencies.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Define common neurological and neurosurgical emergencies such as stroke, seizures, respiratory failure, as well as provide updates in best practice for these topics
- Review diagnosis of neurocritical care conditions and diseases, as well as pathophysiologic management of these conditions
- Outline strategies for best practice and evidence-based medicine updates for medical providers caring for patients with neurological critical care and neurosurgical ICU disorders

Rooms are reserved for attendees and their guests at the group rate starting at $229 per night plus applicable taxes. In order to receive the special rate, reservations must be made before the room block sells out or before the expiration date of April 15, 2020, whichever comes first. The resort has extended the group rate three days prior and three days after the course based on group room availability.

Resort guestrooms will be subject to a daily resort fee discounted to $25.00 per room per night (currently $35 per room per night) in effect at the time of check in. This fee includes: complimentary general bandwidth in meeting space, enhanced in-room wireless internet for up to six devices, unlimited local and domestic long distance calls, daily bike rental through Grande Lakes Sports, transportation to SeaWorld, Universal Studios and Disney theme parks, driving range privileges, and daily recreational activities.

When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received. No refunds are granted less than 14 days before the course start date.
