Awake spine surgery is a new and developing field of minimally invasive spine surgery. While spine surgery is typically performed with general anesthesia, awake spine is performed with regional anesthesia allowing faster recovery, reduced pain, reduced overall system effect on the patient. The goal of this course is to teach both the techniques needed for and the benefits of performing awake spine surgery as well as how to develop and implement an awake spine program.

Physicians, Residents, Fellows, Students, Nurse Practitioners, Physican Assistants, and Nurses in the fields of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Pain Management
