This state-of-the-art update on Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology is designed to provide evidence-based strategies that focus on practical multidisciplinary clinical care. We welcome a variety of specialists, primary care physicians, and advanced health care providers who have a specific interest in this field. The format will include the latest clinical and laboratory research presented through didactic lecture, case vignettes, interactive Q & A sessions with the faculty.

Includes: Allied Health Professional; Nurse; Nurse Practitioner; Physician; Physician Assistant; Resident/Fellow; Physical and Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the range of therapeutic options for aquaporin-4-IgG seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders.
  • Implement strategies for selecting first and subsequent disease-modifying therapies for patients with relapsing or progressive MS.
  • Recognize how to diagnose autoimmune encephalitis and the risk factors for misdiagnosis.
  • Describe the clinical, laboratory and neuroimaging characteristics of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-associated disorders.
  • Identify appropriate management of common MS symptoms.

The hotel is located on the Mayo Clinic Phoenix campus, but is not considered within walking distance of the ASU Health Futures Center. (Shuttle service from the hotel to the ASU Health Futures Center is available.)
