This session is designed for allied healthcare professionals and will provide a comprehensive review of stroke across the continuum of care. Topics will include the management of post-stroke epilepsy, the role of interventional radiology in acute stroke, and the challenges associated with transitions of care.
Target Audience
This course is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, primary care physicians, emergency department physicians, neurology residents, vascular neurology fellows, and stroke center team members, including nurse practitioners, nurses, PAs, physical and occupational therapists, and speech therapists.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the eligibility criteria for intravenous thrombolysis (tPA/tenecteplase) in acute ischemic stroke and identify endovascular therapy candidates with large vessel occlusion (LVO)
- Compare standard and emerging treatment options for cerebrovascular disease
- Evaluate recent clinical trial data and their impact on treatment options for stroke patients.
- Describe recent developments in stroke prevention strategies
- Identify modifiable stroke risk factors and evidence-based interventions (e.g., blood pressure control, anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation)
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke that prompt emergency evaluation and earlier evidence-based treatment

A block of coastal view rooms, single/double/triple/quad occupancy, is reserved at a special course rate of $379 per night, plus tax. Group rates will be extended to conference attendees three days prior to and three days after the conference, based on availability. To receive the special rates, reservations must be made on or before Tuesday, September 22, 2026, or before the room block fills. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. All parking at the resort is provided by valet service. Overnight parking at the resort is $25 per night.
