This hands-on workshop is designed to provide the latest wound healing modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultra mist therapy, pulsatile lavage with suction, and negative pressure wound therapy (VAC).

Target Audience

This multidisciplinary course is intended for healthcare providers who care for wound care patients. Disciplines include physicians, pedorthists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers (NP/PA, WOC, CNS, RN, LPN, etc.), physical therapists, dietitians, medical trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, etc.) and others who care for patients with wounds.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the principles underlying the care of chronic wounds
  • Describe systemic factors that may impair healing
  • Describe specific diagnostic tests related to wound assessment
  • Demonstrate multiple modalities in wound care
  • Discuss advances in wound healing therapeutics as related to regenerative medicine
