This conference will introduce and explore various approaches to managing acute and chronic pain including holistic and pharmacologic interventions. Nurses and other care providers interact with individuals with all types of pain across the healthcare continuum. Topics include chronic pain management across care settings, integrative therapies, disparities and inequities in treating pain, medical cannabis, and a patient's journey.
- 3.00 ANCC hours apply toward advanced practice nursing pharmacology credits.
- 13.75 ANCC contact hours meet ACHPN® HPAR and ASPMN® continuing education requirements for recertification.
Target Audience
This CNE conference is designed for registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, and other healthcare professionals interested in pain management challenges in their daily practice.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explore the management of acute and chronic pain
- Describe integrative approaches to pain management
- Discuss pharmacologic interventions related to pain management and withdrawal
- Outline disparities and inequities in treating pain
