Immunotherapy is a rapidly evolving and growing field that has broad reaching impacts on the practice of medicine. This course is designed to teach participants about a wide range of immunotherapies for cancer treatment, future directions in immunotherapies, and practical management of patients receiving immunotherapies. Immunotherapies that will be discussed include adoptive cellular therapies, checkpoint-inhibitors, small molecules immune modulators, bi-specifics, and CAR-T therapy.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, residents, fellows, pharmacists, social workers, scientists, students, and allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review current application of CAR-T cell therapy and other novel immunotherapies.
- List effective methods to work in inter-disciplinary teams in the context of immunotherapies.
- List target patient populations well suited for CAR-T cell and other immunotherapies.
- Describe future directions in CAR-T cell therapy and cellular therapeutics.
- Give examples of practical management of patients receiving CAR-T cell and other immunotherapies.
- Describe management of novel immunotherapy side-effects.
- Describe side-effects of novel immunotherapy.

Rochester, Minnesota, is a friendly city that greets thousands of visitors from around the world each year. The city is serviced by a modern international airport with multiple flights and connections daily. Access to and from the airport is provided by taxi, shuttle service, and rental car. The airport is located approximately 10 miles from the Mayo Clinic campus.
Note to Travelers: Several cities in the United States are named Rochester. When you make airline reservations and check your baggage, be sure that your destination is Rochester, Minnesota (RST) and that your baggage has been properly tagged.
Flying through the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is another option. There are two shuttle services that provide direct service to Mayo Clinic and the surrounding area. Travel time is approximately 75 minutes.
