The 34th Biennial Dermatology Symposium: The O’Leary Meeting 2025 aims to provide an update on dermatological conditions, new therapeutics, and devices for the dermatologist and dermatological team. The 2025 meeting highlights dermatology crossing paths with other disciplines such as oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, surgery, and cosmetics. This symposium consists of a multimedia approach to updating physicians about the current and future care of dermatology patients with both common and rare diseases. Traditional lecture format and interactive panel formats with faculty representation from all three Mayo Clinic sites are used. The information presented is relevant to dermatopathologists, surgical dermatologists, general dermatologists, and pediatric dermatologists.

Target Audience

his course is designed for dermatologists, physician assistants, nurses and other healthcare practitioners in dermatology or the other highlighted specialty areas of care. A special welcome to the alumni from the Mayo Clinic Dermatology Department alumni from Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the implementation of interdisciplinary care in patients with dermatological conditions.
  • Evaluate the emerging therapies in psoriatic arthritis.
  • Identify practical trips in cosmetic dermatology.
  • Assess practical clinical pearls to help diagnose dermatological diseases.
  • Summarize advances in the diagnosis of cross-specialty diseases.
  • Summarize improving care of pediatric dermatology patients by increasing comfort with the appropriate use of JAK inhibitors in children.
  • Identify the cutting-edge use of skin imaging and artificial intelligence to improve the diagnosis of skin cancers.
  • Examine the appropriate use of Mohs; avoiding over and under use.
  • Identify the newer family of autoinflammatory diseases to broaden the differential diagnosis list when faced with challenging rashes.
  • Analyze updated guidance on the management of cutaneous adverse drug reactions.
  • Evaluate the emerging therapies in pediatric populations.
  • Evaluate emerging therapies in dermatology surgical cases.
  • Assess practical clinical pearls to help treat dermatological diseases.
  • Summarize advances in the management of cross-specialty diseases.
  • Identify the cutting-edge use of skin imaging and artificial intelligence to improve the management of skin cancers.
