Mayo Clinic Innovations in Gastroenterology and Hepatology: Artificial Intelligence and Beyond is a two-day educational program highlighting notable advancements within digital healthcare, artificial intelligence (AI) applications for the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and state-of-the-art developments in endoscopic techniques and devices. This event is intended for medical students, residents, fellows, practicing gastroenterologists, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical investigators, researchers, computer scientists, data scientists, AI engineers, and healthcare innovators seeking an informed perspective on current and emerging innovations in the field. This year’s agenda features sessions on large language models, clinical implementation and regulatory framework of AI, and new endoscopic techniques, among other pertinent topics.

Call for Abstracts

As part of the Mayo Clinic Innovations in Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2027: Artificial Intelligence and Beyond, all trainees, physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and researchers involved in Gastroenterology and Hepatology are encouraged to submit either a traditional research abstract or an innovative project pitch to be presented at the course. Submissions should be 300 words or less and may include one figure or table.

Submission Eligibility: Original abstracts or innovative pitch ideas that either have or have not been presented at other meetings will be considered.

Notification of Results: All primary authors will be notified by October 30, 2026, if their submission has been selected for presentation. Details regarding presentation will follow.

Presentation of Submissions: Abstracts and Innovative Pitches chosen for presentation may be uploaded to the conference website and presented during the live & livestream Mayo Clinic Innovations in Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2027: Artificial Intelligence and Beyond on January 22-23, 2027. 

Scholarship & Registration Requirements: Primary authors selected for presentation at conference may receive a scholarship to attend the course. Fellows who submitted abstracts but not chosen to present may also receive a scholarship for reduced registration fee to the course.
