Medical and Pharmaceutical Aspects of Psychiatry is a mini-course derived from Psychiatry Clinical Reviews – Online, which consists of five mini-courses focusing on the management of psychiatric problems including:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Medical and Pharmaceutical Aspects of Psychiatry
- Addiction and Population Approaches to Depression
- Borderline Personality Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Aspects of Suicide
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants who are involved in the management of psychiatric problems across all care settings.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe factors that influence drug interactions
- Identify clinically relevant drug interactions associated with psychotropic medications
- Identify contraindications to medications for diabetes
- Discuss when to start a statin based on ASCVD risk score
- Describe blood pressure treatment goals based on comorbidities
