Mayo Clinic Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2018 is designed to update physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health care providers practicing in gastroenterology and hepatology about new approaches to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Faculty will present data on multiple topics including general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal neoplasia, esophageal diseases, motility, nutrition, pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopy and hepatology.

Target Audience
This course is designed for practicing gastroenterologists, surgeons, GI fellows, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, individuals specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopy, and primary care physicians with an interest in gastroenterology.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
General Course:
- Cite new modalities in the management of esophageal motility disorders (achalasia).
- List treatment strategies for patients with common functional GI complaints.
- Identify current strategies for the management of chronic viral hepatitis C.
- Select the proper therapeutic approach to patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
- Describe new anticoagulation agents and their management among patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy.
- Discuss current endoscopic strategies for the management of the obese patient.
- Summarize new treatment options for patients with refractory primary biliary cholangitis or difficult to control hepatic encephalopathy.
ABIM MOC - Update in Gastroenterology:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of up-to-date clinical gastroenterology and identify areas where additional study may be needed.
- Describe options for the diagnosis, management and therapy of GI diseases.
- Identify strategies for screening and prevention of GI diseases.

Room rates are per room, per night, single, double and triple occupancy, plus applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check-in. Children younger than 18 years staying in an adult's room are complimentary. Group rates will apply three days prior and three days after the course dates, based upon group room availability.
Daily resort fee of $35 is reduced to $5 per room, per night plus tax.
