- This interactive course provides important updates in infectious diseases including a review of new developments, guidelines and literature in the field.
- Information is presented in case-based and interactive sessions, in-depth discussions, and debates, and is geared towards increasing clinician knowledge, performance and patient outcomes.
- Topics for 2019 include: emerging global infections, central nervous system infections, new molecular microbiology diagnostics, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections, Clostridioides difficile infection, gram-negative resistance and new antimicrobials for gram-negative organisms, and review of new guidelines and topics that have day-to-day relevance to the ID clinician.

Join us on the morning of Sunday, February 3rd for a session designed to target recognition and response to burnout. This activity shifts paradigm for providers from a traditional medical model to a preventive model. See more details on the session page here.
Target Audience
This course is designed for infectious disease specialists, infectious diseases trainees, internists, pharmacists, hospitalists, and clinical researchers. The content will also benefit clinical microbiologists.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Explain the diagnosis and management of emerging global infectious diseases
- Identify and describe principles of diagnosis and management of hepatitis B and C and co-infection of hepatitis C and HIV
- Review the spectrum and management of non-tuberculous and tuberculous mycobacterial infections
- Confidently identify advances in molecular diagnostics including significance of the microbiome
- Describe epidemiology and new treatment paradigms in gram-negative bacterial infections

Guest rooms have been reserved for attendees and their guests with special course rates at the Fairmont Orchid. See below for the various rates that are being offered. In order to receive the special rates, reservations must be made before the room block is filled or before the expiration date of January 4, 2019, whichever comes first. There is no charge for children under eighteen (18) years of age sharing the same room with their parents and utilizing existing bedding. There will be an additional charge of $75.00 per night, plus tax for the third adult (18 years or older) in a room. Daily Resort Charge ($15):
The daily resort charge of $30 is discounted at a rate of $15 per room per night plus tax for all attendees staying at the resort. The fee includes the following:

- Local, domestic long distance and 1-800 access calls from your guest room

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 28.0 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received. No refunds are granted less than 14 days before the course start date.
