This conference will focus on care of patients with wounds and ostomies. Topics include staging of wounds and appropriate treatments, an overview of ostomy care, advanced care of ostomies, pressure injuries, managing fistulas, and incontinence associated dermatitis.

Target Audience

This nursing conference is designed for nurses certified in WOC and working in formal WOC roles along with nurses who care for patients with wounds and ostomies.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Describe identification of wounds, staging, and treatments
  • Outline care of ostomies and troubleshooting
  • Identify prevention measures for wounds and ostomies.
