Joy has been defined as a human emotion — a state created as we experience positive, poignant, reflective and connective moments. It is transient, never persisting but imparting ripples that impact us long after the moment. Now more than ever there is a need to develop mindful initiatives that brings joy in our personal lives and in the workplace. In this episode we speak with Eric Cleveland and Danielle Teal, two leaders of the Joy at Mayo Clinic (J@M) initiative. We will discuss the joy equation, the Institute of Health Improvement’s (IHI) Framework for Improving Joy in Work and discuss examples of pragmatic initiatives that can bring joy at both the individual and team levels.
