ResCUE Model™ for Cross-Cultural Care (pediatric clinical learners) - Online CME Course

The Office of Health Equity and Inclusion (OHEI) was charged by Mayo Clinic Clinical Practice Committee to implement a cultural agility educational and training program for all Mayo Clinic employees across the enterprise. Cultural agility ― the ability to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people across cultures is a trademark of all high-performing organizations. This course will provide the tools consultants and allied health staff need.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course material, learners should be able to : 

  • Describe cultural differences impacting healthcare.
  • Explain how to effectively communicate in cross-cultural interactions.
  • Explain how to demonstrate respect and curiosity for cultural diversity and find solutions when cultural differences create conflict.

Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.00 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A record of attendance will be provided to all registrants for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies or other professional associations.

Maintenance of Certification:

ABIM - American Board of Internal Medicine
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ABOHNS – American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to meet the expectations of the American Board of Otolaryngology’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

ABPATH – American Board of Pathology
This activity provides 1 Category 1 CME and Self-Assessment Module (SAM) credits toward Part II of the ABPath MOC Program.

ABP – American Board of Pediatrics
