Mayo Clinic’s multidisciplinary head and neck symposium offers the latest advances in head and neck cancer in the fields of surgical oncology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology. Also, current information about symptom control and survivorship is discussed. The first day of this unique symposium offers a subspecialty path with hands-on learning and small breakout sessions followed by two days of multidisciplinary sessions covering the latest advances in the management of head and neck cancers. The primary goal of this course is to guide practitioners and allied health staff on the best evidence-based care for patients with head and neck cancers.

Target Audience

This course is intended for otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, laboratory scientists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, oncology pharmacists, oncology nurses, speech and language pathologists, physical therapists, dietitians, dentists, clinical research personnel, and other allied health staff involved in the care of head and neck cancer patients. Specialties include medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology/ENT, pathology, radiology, and laboratory research science.

  • Discuss latest advancements in Salivary Gland Tumors.
  • Discuss latest advancements in Advanced Skin Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

  • Examine symptom control and survivorship in head and neck cancer.
  • Describe best practices in multidisciplinary care of head and neck cancer patients.
