This course offers an interdisciplinary update to nurse practitioners, physician assistants and healthcare providers who deliver preventive, acute and chronic disease-based care to infants, children, and adolescents. Topics presented include the most recent strategies for timely and effective evidence-based diagnosis and management plans for cardiac, neurological, and dermatological conditions, as well as updated immunization practices, information on infectious diseases, sports medicine, and mental health disorders for pediatric and adolescent health.

Target Audience

This course offers an interdisciplinary update to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and healthcare providers who deliver preventive, acute and chronic disease-based care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults who need an interdisciplinary update.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify medical information from reviews of commonly encountered clinical scenarios into the daily practice of pediatric and adolescent medicine.
  • Review recent guideline recommendations to ensure practice based care is in accordance with the most recent evidence based peer reviewed literature.
  • Assess effective clinical strategies for diagnosing and managing a wide array of challenging problems in clinical practice.
