The Mayo Clinic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review – Online is designed for candidates preparing for certifying and maintenance of certification examinations in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This course is intended to provide a comprehensive review of pain medication and facilitate additional study as needed.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians and resident fellows preparing for certifying examinations in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the theoretical pathophysiology of myofascial trigger points according to Simons
- Identify the two major categories of myopathies and the principles of evaluation and rehabilitation management of myopathies
- Recognize the general characteristics of motor neuron diseases and the principles of treatment
- Discuss the differences between mononeuropathy and polyneuropathy and the general approach to examination and diagnosis for each condition
- List the common features of AIDP and discuss the general principles of rehabilitation management
- Understand the common causes of brachial plexopathy and lumbosacral plexopathy and discuss the approach to management for each condition
