This comprehensive course, featuring faculty from Mayo Clinic (Jacksonville, FL) and guest faculty from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY) and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston, MA), is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform both basic and advanced bronchoscopic and interventional pulmonary procedures. Participants will gain hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of various techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary conditions. There will be simulations and robotic bronchoscopy, as well as the opportunity to further develop procedural skills as a team in various scenarios.

Target Audience
This course is designed for pulmonologists, pulmonary fellows, advanced practice providers, nurses, physician assistants, technicians, respiratory therapists, internists, hospitalists, and intensivists seeking to enhance their bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonary techniques, and bedside pulmonary procedures such as thoracentesis and point-of-care ultrasound.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the basic concepts of pleural space intervention along with the indications, techniques, or potential complications.
- Describe bedside pulmonary procedures such as chest ultrasound, diagnostic thoracentesis, therapeutic thoracentesis, pigtail catheter placement, and chest tube insertion.
- Describe advanced procedures in bronchoscopy including robotic and navigational bronchoscopy.
- Demonstrate commonly performed pulmonary procedures with hands-on experience on simulated models.
- Demonstrate techniques for bedside percutaneous tracheostomy, tracheostomy care and trach exchanges.
