|This course has been CANCELLED - See additional courses in Special Topics in Health Care|
Participants learn how success in diversity and inclusion in healthcare is essential to providing optimal patient care, achieving health equity, and attracting and engaging the workforce of the future. Through keynote presentations by leading experts, roundtable discussions and experiential workshops, participants have the opportunity to examine their beliefs on equity and inclusion, learn how bias interferes with talent development, recruitment, retention, and contributes to health disparities and learn evidence based processes to address these issues. Attention is given to recognize and understand inclusion among employees and our patients. New skills and processes are identified that reduce bias and increase talent development of women and minorities.
This course is designed for both Mayo and external audiences interested in advancing health equity and diversity and inclusion in health care, including health care providers, social workers, nurses, individuals involved in talent acquisition and development such as hiring managers (HR professionals), supervisors, hospital leadership and administrators, and diversity and inclusion practitioners.
