The goal of the Mayo Clinic Care Network Leadership Excellence Program is to share the best practices in leadership that have made Mayo Clinic the worldwide leader in health care. As a unique physician led organization, this program develops clinical and administrative leadership dyads and triads. This education is focused on the critical leadership skills, attributes and perspectives which have been employed and nurtured at Mayo Clinic as fundamental to the delivery of world class healthcare. The 2.5-day leadership experience is designed to prepare emerging and established leaders for the competitive, ever changing health care environment. The face-to-face session will include exposure to a variety of leadership topics and facilitated group discussions with Mayo Clinic leaders. Speakers will share organizational concepts from a Mayo perspective, along with tools and templates participants can leverage in their home organizations.

This activity is designed for Mayo Clinic Care Network members only.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize and develop strong, successful physician administrator partnerships by leveraging the strengths and unique skills both bring to the table.
  • Create a call to action with partners or extended teams to take learnings and ideas to the next level within their practice or organization.
  • Explore personal leadership style through the lens of influence, persuasion, informal and formal leadership roles and incorporate best practices to enhance personal leadership brand.
  • Discover the benefits of the Authentic Leadership approach, recognize how Authentic Leaders are made through identification of strengths, values, motivations and ethical boundaries.

Other Health Care Professionals
A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations.
