Sleep, pain and trauma history are three concerns that can significantly impact an individual’s ability to advance health and wellness goals. This continuing education course is designed for health and wellness coaches who want to enhance their knowledge of the current science and treatments of sleep disorders, chronic pain and trauma history.
Mayo Clinic experts share the latest research and evidence-based practices in the fields of sleep, trauma, and pain management that can be used in support of client’s self-directed behavioral goals. The course covers topics such as, the impact of sleep deprivation on physical and emotional health, the neurobiology of trauma and its effects on the body and mind, and evidence-based chronic pain management techniques.
By the end of this course, participants will have a deeper understanding of the impact of sleep, trauma, and pain on overall health and well-being. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the current science, treatment and behavioral aspects of these important health concerns.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the coach will be able to:
- Identify signs and symptoms of a potential sleep disorders, trauma, and pain management in coaching sessions.
- Describe evidence-based interventions for managing pain and trauma in clients, and demonstrate the ability to integrate these interventions into their coaching practice.
- Discuss behavioral strategies to support self-efficacy, coping and self-care skills for clients with sleep, trauma, and pain management.
